Short profile

I am Associate Professor of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research in Barcelona (Spain), and Visiting Associate Professor at the Nagasaki University School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health (Japan).

My research activity focuses on environmental epidemiology, studying the health effects of environmental risk exposures; temperature, air pollution, desert dust, and climate change. I have a strong interest in applied statistical and epidemiological methods in environmental health studies. In particular, the application of time-series regression in public health and statistical methods for meta-analysis.

I am currently teaching postgraduate medical statistics and epidemiology at the Nagasaki University School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health and collaborate at the European Educational Programme in Epidemiology
